Start with the kitchen: empty every cabinet and drawer, wipe interiors and exteriors, degrease the range hood, scrub burners and the inside of the oven, defrost and detail the fridge and freezer, and polish the sink and faucet. Don't forget the dishwasher filter and the seal around the door.
Bathrooms need a top-down deep clean: descale showerheads and glass, scrub grout, disinfect toilets inside and out (including the base), polish mirrors and chrome, empty the medicine cabinet, and mop with a disinfectant safe for the flooring.
In bedrooms and living areas, dust ceiling fans, vents, light fixtures, baseboards, window sills, and closet shelving. Spot-clean walls, remove nails or anchors, and vacuum carpets edge-to-edge—including closets after they're emptied.
Finish with whole-home details: interior windows and tracks, door frames, switch plates, and floors mopped or vacuumed by surface type. Take out all trash and recycling, then walk through with your move-out inspection checklist in hand.
